Debris is a found coastal assemblage photographed at Vansittart Bay in the northern Kimberley, Western Australia.
A tide-washed cluster of seaweed, coral, branches, plastic, fishing line and hooks has gathered along this remote stretch of coastline. Both natural and human-made, beautiful and unsettling, it is a quiet reminder of the debris reaching even the most isolated parts of Australia.
The image considers what the ocean returns to shore, what we leave behind, and our shared responsibility for protecting these fragile places.
Photographed on location in the Kimberley using material found within the surrounding landscape. Objects were returned to where they were found, with nothing removed from the land, in respect for Country and its natural environment.
Please Note
All framed works are supplied with UV acrylic Perspex as standard.
