Wyndam Palm captures a burnt cluster of palms located near Secret Springs, Wyndham, in the East Kimberley, Western Australia.
A hidden freshwater spring set within the rugged northern landscape. Cool, still and quietly alive, this place offers a striking contrast to the surrounding heat, rock and dust, a small sanctuary within one of Australia's most ancient and powerful regions. The valley was struck by lightning during the wet season, leaving the palm scorched and blackened, its charred form rendered in fine detail against a soft, pale background.
Photographed on location in the Kimberley, each botanical study was created in situ using material found in the surrounding landscape. Objects were returned to where they were found, with nothing removed from the land, in respect for Country and its natural environment.
Please Note
All framed works are supplied with UV acrylic Perspex as standard.
